Finally Alive and Online

After years of contemplating and procrastinating on creating my own website, as you can see I finally took the plunge and created this site. While there is still plenty to do in getting everything configured and setup, this is at least a start. For those of you interested in starting your own website or webblog I plan on posting what steps I took in creating this site and getting it online, so stay tuned and check back for more details.

Ironically, my inspiration for finally moving ahead with this project was my recent decision to secretly create a web blog for a good friend of mine, Brian White and then completely surprise the heck out of him when I turn over the keys. Earlier today I registered BriansBlog.ca for his site’s domain name and then purchased a very unique custom template design which I think suites him to a tee. Now that I have the hosting account created and WordPress blogging software installed, I now find myself waiting for the domain name registration process to complete which can take up to 24 hours. So with a few minutes to spare and feeling rather inspired, I decided to finally invest the time to get this site off the ground. An hour later viola, ScottHalliday.ca is alive and online. Now that was the easy part because next I have to decide what to do with it. While I give that more thought and chew it over some, it’s back to finishing off Brian’s blog and getting that online as well.
